About Me

My name is Patrick Plude and I'm a systems administrator with over 10 years of experience in the field. I specialize in Windows and Linux server administration, Cloud Platforms, Email, Authentication, and more, and have worked with a variety of clients in the Medical, Legal, and Gaming industries

As a systems administrator, I pride myself on my ability to quickly evaluate several solutions, and bring new ideas to the team. That kind of work style ensures I'm always innovating! I'm constantly striving to improve my skills and stay up-to-date with the latest industry developments in order to provide the best service possible.

In my free time, I enjoy tinkering in my homelab, doing some 3D printing, or getting on the air with my Amateur Radio license (which is where K1PPL comes from, it's my callsign with the FCC) . For me, systems administration is not just a job, but a passion.

Work Experience

The Pokémon Company International (Oct 2018 - Present)

As a Systems Administrator III at The Pokémon Company International, I have been responsible for implementing and maintaining a variety of IT systems. One of my most significant achievements has been designing, implementing, and maintaining the IT environment for the company's premiere events, including the North America International Championships (NAIC) and the Pokémon World Championships.

For these events, I built the IT program from scratch, using Microsoft Intune and Autopilot to ensure that devices used by the tournament operators and floor judges are reliable and performant.  By ensuring the smooth functioning of the IT systems, I helped to make these events successful and memorable experiences for all involved.

In addition to my work on the premiere events, I have also implemented a new CMDB and integrated it with our ITSM platform to improve our IT asset management and ticketing processes. I have automated common troubleshooting, remediation, and auditing tasks using Python, PowerShell, and Shell scripting, which has helped us streamline our workflows and reduce the risk of errors. I have also maintained our IT systems in our SIEM tool and built dashboards and alerts for several teams to improve our security monitoring and incident response capabilities.
